 According to the Vermont Department of Health, 55,000 Vermonters suffer from diabetes. Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to complications such as heart disease, kidney disease, blindness, amputation and stroke.

If you think you may be at risk for diabetes, take the risk assessment on the American Diabetes Association's web site. This web site is a wealth of diabetes resources including meal and exercise guidelines as well as recipes. 


Regardless of whether you have diabetes or are at risk for developing the condition, the good news is that you can take steps to prevent and / or manage it. Here is a list of local resources you can check out:
