In-Law: Schuler used pot frequently

By now, most Long Islanders are familiar with the case of Diane Schuler.
Schuler is the mother from Babylon, who in July, drove the wrong way on the Taconic Parkway. She was allegedly drunk and high on marijuana at the time, and caused a crash which killed eight people, including herself.
Schuler's husband, Daniel, has claimed that his wife did not drink often and used marijuana only for medical purposes, but had not smoked before driving away from an upstate campground with her nieces and two children in tow.
However, Schuler's sister-in-law, according to an article in the Long Island newspaper Newsday, said Diane Schuler frequently smoked marijuana, and was also a heavy drinker.
Toxicology reports showed that Schuler had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol and high levels of marijuana in her system at the time of her death.
Daniel Schuler has denied that his wife was drunk or high the day of the crash. He has stated his intent to re-do the toxicology reports, because he believes his wife had an underlying medical condition which led to her causing the car crash.
