  Kim Zimmer
Like others affected by the economy, soap star Kim Zimmer found herself without employment. In September 2009, CBS pulled the plug on long running soap Guiding Light. Playing the boisterous diva Reva Shayne Lewis, Zimmer found herself with more free time than expected.
In an interview with the New York Times, Zimmer explains how she is getting some much needed apartment therapy. The soap actress is now playing decorator to her son's new two bedroom pad in Los Angeles. This home will also function as her temporary residence while she is searching for work on the West Coast.
"Ms. Zimmer set two goals to 'mother up' the place so it wouldn't feel like a dormitory and to embellish it with affordable creature comforts for those stressful days, for both her and Jake, when auditions are deflating. (Araton)"

Zimmer decorated on a budget purchasing "recession friendly" finds from showrooms like:
  • Ashley Furniture
  • JCPenny
  • Jafajems (Indian furnishing & accessory store)
