Michael Jackson's film, This Is It has had its run in theaters extended through Thanksgiving, reports the Associated Press.
The AP reports that SONY has taken in $101 million in box office for the movie so far--$68.5 internationally and $32.5 in the United States.
Perhaps the fact that the DVD will not be released until early 2010 also influenced the decision to extend the run. Initially, the movie was to play in theaters for 2 weeks, then go to DVD.
The movie continues to be popular with Michael Jackson fans as well as casual audiences.
