Is it really worth breaking through all this just to be like the stars??
Is it really worth breaking through all this just to be like the stars??
http://hairdofordummies.blogspot.com/2009/06/hair-structure.html

As we look around the us everything is constantly changing. Beauty changes every day. Long hair is in.... Long hair is out. What is popular today will not be popular a year from now.

With all the changes we have to make to fit in do you ever wonder what kind of damage that does to your body? For example, getting highlights may seem like a good idea because that’s what the magazine tells you to do, but how much bleach will it take to break through those six layers of beautiful browns. Your hair is essential made up of three layers. The cuticle or the epidermis is the outer layer that most colors lift open and deposit inside. Then we have the cortex or the middle layer which harbors the color molecules that your stylist slaps on your hair. After the cortex we have the medulla which is the center of your hair shaft. When achieving those beautiful blondes your stylist is practically ripping away your cuticle, tearing at your cortex and basically leaving your medulla to fend for itself. After this process your stylist will suggest getting a deep conditioner, adding another $10.00 on to your already expensive service, and send you packing.

So is being a brunette really that bad? Blondes can't really have that much more fun can they? So next time you see that beach blonde on the cover of "Vogue" are you going to pick up that phone a call your money hungry stylist for your $75 to $100 foil weave just to keep up with the trends or consider your poor little medulla being lonely with out it's cortex and cuticle to visit with??
