In these tough economic times, many people have been cutting back on the things that are a luxury.  Hair happens to be one of the things that is cut from peoples budgets.  There are ways to get a great haircut and any other service for a low price.

Beauty schools are a great place to go to get your hair done.  All students are supervised by licensed beauty instructors.  Students perform all the work for a much cheaper rate than that of salons.  When a student begins beauty school, they first have to complete classroom training to learn the basics of hairstyling.  Once this is completed, they are assigned to the cutting floor.

The students in beauty school well supervised by talented, licensed instructors on every end of the cosmetology business.   Hair dressing is one of many areas taught.  Manicuring, pedicuring, spa services, skin care and make up, extensions, weaves are just to name some of the technical skills that a student learns.  Other training provided includes, customer service, product knowledge, salon management, and a host of other non technical topics are discussed.

During the time a student stylist is on the floor, they are also required to have classes every week  to continue to learn the business.  After 1550 hours of learning and performing technical services, taking the state board exams and passing, the student stylist is able to obtain licensure.

Prices are quite a bit less at a beauty school.  In some cases, haircuts start under $12.00.  Perms and color services may begin at $30.00, depending on what you are having done and what school you go to for your hair service.   The inside of the school looks and feels like an actual salon-because it is!  The only thing different is that the student stylists have to have their work approved by an instructor before the client can leave.  Sometimes, when frequenting a beauty school, this is the best cut or hair service you may get.  These students need to make sure they do everything right as their future depends on it.  Not only that, you will be assisting todays future stylists to be the best they can be.

The link below has a listing of the beauty schools in Minnesota.  Please check this out and find a beauty school near you and stop in for a visit.  They would be happy to show you around so you may see all these talented future stylists learning their profession.
