The bad economy has taken its toll on animal welfare organizations and animal shelters nationwide; the Massachusetts Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) is no different.
On Saturday, May 2, 2009, the MSPCA will host its Annual Furry Affair Auction from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Cotuit Center for the Arts, located at 4404 Falmouth Road in Cotuit, MA.
The MSPCA's Annual Furry Affair Auction will raise money to benefit the MSPCA-Cape Cod Animal Shelter's Angel Fund. According to the MSPCA, the fund was established to help sick, injured and homeless pets like Lady (pictured at left).
Tickets to the MSPCA's Annual Furry Affair Auction fundraiser event are $30 per person. Tickets include admission, two drinks and appetizers during the fundraiser, which will feature music, and both live and silent auctions.
Anyone who is interested in attending this fundraiser for the animals is encouraged to RSVP by April 25. Depending on availability, tickets may be available at the door on the night of the event.
Tickets can be purchased online, at the MSPCA-Cape Cod Animal Shelter, or by calling 508-775-0940.
The MSPCA recently announced that it will be closing three of its Massachusetts animal shelters due to a decrease in donations and a significant drop in the non-profit animal welfare organization's endowment.
