On Saturday, April 11, 2009, it's Animal Rights Day at the Massachusetts School of Law.
The day's events, slated to take place from 8:30 a.m. through 4:00 p.m., will include talks on animal ethics and animal law, along with demonstrations and presentations from animal welfare organizations.
This year's Animal Rights Day will bring attention to some less common animal organizations, including Animal Rescue Flights (ARF), a group that helps companion animals avoid euthanasia due to shelter overcrowding by relocating the pets from overcrowded animal shelters and transporting them to other shelter facilities across the nation.
Also on-hand for the Massachusetts School of Law's Animal Rights Day will be the Cape Cod Stranding Network (CCSN). The CCSN is a non-profit group "dedicated to improving marine mammal stranding response on Cape Cod and southeastern MA."
The Animal Rights Day events will also include police dog demonstrations, agility demonstrations and a showcase of unusual and fun pet tricks The public is invited to join the Massachusetts School of Law Animal Rights Day, but organizers to request an email from anyone who is interested in attending for planning purposes.
Send an e-mail (with a subject of "Plan to Attend") to animallaw@mslaw.edu.
