I'm Going Hunting...

April 30, 9:46 PM

For raccoons on campus, that is!

Two CU students were arrested late last night after a police officer found them creeping around campus with a bow and arrow. They told the officer that they were trying to hunt raccoons.
"It might have had something do to with their level of apparent intoxication," police Lt. Tim McGraw said.
Two things- Raccoons are creepy especially the campus ‘coons. They hang out in packs at night and stare as you walk by. I have only felt unsafe on campus at night once, and that was because I could hear the raccoons clicking along behind me, and, I’m pretty sure, plotting my demise. So I pushed my friend towards them and ran. He yelled at me later for trying to sacrifice him to the raccoons.
Second, I’m surprised there isn’t more drunk raccoon hunting. I like the creativity of the bow and arrow, too. We all know that drinking and college go hand in hand and I’m shocked that this is the first time someone thought of this. It might not be as good of an idea as burying your roommate's finished puzzle in the backyard, but it may be a close second.

“Why We Want to Kill You”
Walid Shoebat and Kamal Saleem, two alleged ex-terrorists gave a lecture at the Glenn Miller Ballroom last night about why everyone hates the United States. I missed it, because I didn’t get in line for a ticket earlier enough.
“It was actually really interesting,” said my friend. “At least, until the end, when they did the Q & A. That’s when people started asking all of their pointed questions. I hate when people have an agenda like that. Like, you can't just listen to what they have to say? You have to turn this into a crusade?”

“Cutest Vegetarian Alive”
CU should be so proud! It is the home of PETA’s “Cutest Male Vegetarian Alive”.
When I saw the heading, I was intrigued. PETA is kind of ridiculous and you never know what it could mean.
Over 3,500 people applied for the title. Applicants had to write short essays about why they became vegetarians and some of their interests. The website has the winners and the final contestants in a tournament style setup.
Leonard Sun, who is a student at CU, won cutest male.
personally, I like to not worry about wearing the same jeans as my man
Really PETA? That’s the best you could find? I'm sure Leonard is a very nice guy, but when I think of a contest winner for "Cutest Whatever", I expect someone to be hot.
Then I began looking through the rest of the finalists on the website.
Being emo appeared to be a requirement. My personal favorite is Jenni, who lists one of her favorite things as “putting the fork marks in peanut butter cookies”.
I’m going to go eat some meat.

The first signs of summer

April 16, 11:27 AM
It definitely was a beautiful day today. I skipped my first two classes, so I didn’t arrive on campus until mid-afternoon. I stepped out of my car into the sunshine and arrived on what looked like a scene from MTV’s Spring Break.   All... Read More
