On October 30th, an event occurred that happens roughly every 2 ½ years – the planet Saturn in its orbit around the Sun had progressed from the sign of Virgo and had moved forward into the succeeding sign of Libra. This changing of zodiacal signs was momentous since Saturn had now moved into the sign of its exaltation, or in other words, the sign that its energies function in the most effectively. The planets are in an ever constant state of movement, so this change is a natural part of how the Universe functions, but this particular shift was key since the planet involved holds influence over areas of life that bear heavy ramifications over us such as time, responsibility, structure, administration/organization, restriction, hardship, and karma itself.
With that said, I felt the need to state on the 30th of October that there was much potential for society as a whole to constructively change since “The Lord of Karma” would be functioning in its most productively effective environment for the world at large during the next 2 ½ years. I further specified the organizations that would be experiencing the most change would be the departments of a legal, judicial and MILITARY nature. To quote myself from my piece, And Justice for All, Ruminations As Saturn Enters Its Exaltation,
“I am hoping that over these next few years, sweeping reforms and constructive changes will occur on every level of status and person in our legal and justice systems but also within our military as well – (never forget during a Saturn transit, Saturn affects the sign it is in but also its polar opposite as well. Libra’s polar opposite is Aries, a sign ruled by Mars, a planet which rules the military.)
Saturn’s rulership includes the tangible structure of things such as buildings or departments as well as the administrative detail needed to run these things. If Saturn deems something worthy to focus his labors on, he does so only if the end results are tangible for all to see."
"May we see concrete proof that our world has changed for the better after applying long overdue reforms and imposing alterations which will sweep through and cleanse every level and status of department and personnel – from our disgracefully overcrowded prisons, our horrifyingly corrupt lawyers and law firms, to the highest levels of military brass and revered judges who are placed at the pinnacles of the Pentagon and the Supreme Court itself!”
I wrote these words a mere week before the mass murders at Fort Hood on November the 5th. On that particular day, Saturn was still in the very first degree of Libra, or in other words 0 degrees. Libra is one of the 4 “cardinal” signs and when a planet is stationed at 0 degrees of any of the cardinal signs, it is astrologically referenced as being at a “cardinal point”. When a planet is at a cardinal point, it is an indication of notoriety, fame, or widespread attention.
How Saturnine energies usually function are as follows:
During a Saturn transit, anything considered no longer integral to the growth or evolution of the parties involved are removed. If the parties involved choose to resist the changes Saturn is demanding, Saturn will make things 10x more difficult in regards to normal functioning until the parties involved surrender and change. If, at the end of a Saturn transit change is accepted from within and change is noticeable from without, then a tangible reward is bestowed for the hard efforts contributed.
Being that Saturn had changed signs, entering a sign it can be the most effective in, along with this particular sign having the trait of bringing forth widespread attentions and focus of the populace with its “cardinal point”, the horrible events at Fort Hood were broadcasting a message more pervasive than just the senseless murders of our military on our own soil. By Saturnine standards, this event occurred with such concentrated ferocity in order to bring our attentions to the fact that changes had been long overdue within the military and that they had been overlooked or ignored for far too long.
Astoundingly, reports are coming out today that speak of a structural flaw of information transferral between 2 organizations that are notorious for having a record of not communicating well – the FBI and the Pentagon.
According to ABC News, the gunman of the Fort Hood massacre, Nidal Hasan, had been corresponding with an al-Qaeda recruiter named Awlaki in Yemen. As many as 20 emails between Hasan and Awlaki had been intercepted by the FBI. Supposedly this was the first time any Pentagon officials knew about this correspondence.
“The FBI said it turned over the information to the Army, but Defense Department officials today denied that. One military investigator on a joint terror task force with the FBI was shown the e-mails, but they were never forwarded in a formal way to more senior officials at the Pentagon, and the Army did not learn of the contacts until after the shootings.”
At first glance, I couldn’t believe that I was hearing about a major breakdown in structural organization between 2 polar opposite parties that exactly fit Saturn’s new placement point astrologically! The very same opposition I myself took the time to describe! Literally, a structural volleyball game of avoiding organizational responsibility (Saturn) of proper communications (Libra = partnerships, Libra’s element, air = communication skills) is occurring between 2 polar opposite organizations, the FBI under the jurisdiction of the Department of Justice (Libra ruled organization) and the headquarters of the Department of Defense, the Pentagon (Aries ruled)!
They say history repeats itself, and when I heard this news update it immediately reminded me of September 11th, 2001 when these 2 departments were again, openly finger pointing blame at the other for lack of communication in regards to previously known information concerning the men who hijacked the planes that had crashed and decimated the World Trade Center.
And I must clearly state that Saturn was intimately involved with that momentous day in history as well. On September 11th, 2001 Pluto, the planet of death, covert or underground activities/organizations, and transformation was in the sign of Sagittarius a fire sign, signifying religious zealotism and martyrdom for a cause and was in direct opposition to Saturn, the planet of structure in Gemini, an air sign that is symbolized by twins. In other words:
A Twin-like structure would be opposed in the air by a fiery force of religious zealotism and martyrs resulting in death and eventual transformation.
It is very key to note that 2001 was the last time Saturn was in the element of air, an element which expresses its energies best through speech and communications of all kind. Saturn also represents hardships based on the premise of their imposition being for the purpose of “life’s lessons learned the hard way.” Apparently not much progress, change, or from the looks of it, work had been done in the area of communications between these 2 Titans of the government in the months and years following 9/11. Saturn, who refuses to be denied and have its lessons be ignored, by re-entering the element of air less than 2 weeks ago, reiterated that point quite clearly through the bloody events at Fort Hood.
Let’s hope that all parties involved learn their lessons the 2nd time around.
