The 103rd year of the Louisiana State Fair closed yesterday afternoon due to torrential rain, excessive flooding, road closures, and numerous tornadoes in the Shreveport area. Fortunately, the bad weather is moving out of the Ark-La-Tex and a phone call to the State Fair offices confirmed that they have re-opened their gates. Furthermore, they are expecting a crowd this weekend, as the dry weather returns to the area. According to KTBS weather, one can expect partly sunny skies with a high of 69 on Saturday, and a high of 72 on Sunday.
The fair is located in Shreveport, easily accessible, just off Interstate 20, and is a great place to take the whole family. This year gate admission is just $8, buy a "Pay One Price" (POP), ticket for $28 which includes gate entrance and ride armband. Parking is $5. The Fair is open from 10am to 11pm Saturday, and10am to 10pm on Sunday,
