Out of the fateful House vote of 220 Yeas and 215 Nays, came a very important discovery. At 10:54pm Saturday evening, there were four votes remaining and surprised shouts went out when a “1” was placed in the Republican slot for a single ‘Yea’ vote. It wasn’t until yesterday morning that the name of the R.I.N.O. was announced.

Anh “Joseph” Cao, the new Representative from the 2nd Congressional District who represents the Jefferson and the Orleans Parishes, was responsible for that vote. In an interview, on Fox & Friends, he stated that, during the healthcare turmoil, Obama had met with him several times, and Obama’s office had remained in contact regularly. Cao denied that he was getting anything for his vote but, with newly found political savvy, Conservatives know this to be a ‘Joe Wilson’s “You Lie!”’ His website blog states the following:

“Today, I had a chance to speak with President Obama during a reception I attended at the White House to commemorate the passage and enactment of the Hate Crimes Bill, which I cosponsored.

I took advantage of the opportunity to pull the President aside and address him directly about some of the issues we face in Louisiana, especially the need for funding for Charity Hospital. President Obama and I have spoken several times about the need for comprehensive, bipartisan solutions to the problems we face, and I am optimistic that he will continue to support our state.”

Although, Cao cited the very noble intent of representing his constituents who are still trying to rebuild from Katrina, twenty-five percent of whom did not have health insurance, it appears he may have “Murtha-esque” motives. In fact, he has far surpassed Murtha in funneling money back to the home state. Proud of his accomplishments, Cao lists all of his ‘Appropriations’ on his site, which totals an impressive $1,010,822,705 on the taxpayer dime, and he was elected to the House in 2008!!!! The following are the big winners of taxpayer dollars:

35,350,000 Army Corps of Engineers for SE Louisiana Construction, re-establishing the ecosystem, hurricane protection and the levies

95,000,000 Army Corps of Engineers for operations and Maintenance of the Mississippi River from Baton Rouge to the Gulf Coast

53,100,000 Army Corps of Engineers for Intracoastal Waterway Maintenance and Operation

87,500,000 The Boeing Company to get the Michaud Facility fully equipped and ready for the Aries I and Aries V rockets program

17,000,000 City of New Orleans for Army Corps of Engineers for new water processing system

10,000,000 to City of New Orleans for funding a Hospital

174,000,000 Intermarine LLC /Central Gulf Lines/Waterman Steamship Corp for 60 privately-owned ships for national security and competitive presence

18,829,158 to Joint Reserve Belle La Chasse Naval Air Base to buy land for relocation and to build a new Operations facility

30.000,000 for I-49 South Upgrades

22,493,640 to New Orleans Crime Coalition to address post-Katrina crime issues

16,993,640 New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation/Metropolitan Crime Commission/Orleans Public Defenders/Louisiana Health and Human Services to fight crime and substance abuse in New Orleans

129,500,000 Port of New Orleans Expansion of Container Terminal and Modifications to Cold Storage Facility

10,000,000 to Southern University at New Orleans for expansion of living quarters and day care facility funding

54,123,655 to Tulane University for various purposes including research of the use of force by Police, biodefense vaccine development, Coastal Sustainability Consortium, Clean Power and Energy Research Consortium

21,750,000 to the University of New Orleans for various purposes including Nims Arts
and Multi-Media Center and climate change consequences at the Coast

8,000,000 to Wild American Shrimp Inc. for marketing program for domestic warm
water shrimp

4,900,000 to Xavier University for an Administration building, the pharmacy and
summer programs

Cao has sold out the American people and the Constitution for ‘Murtha’ Insurance and he needs to go. New Orleans needs to do ‘the hard thing’ and get off of the government dole as Hurricane Katrina was over four years ago.

Maybe Cao would have better served his constituents in the 2nd District by staying under the cover of darkness and not drawing attention to himself…
