Sparticause: Denver's Live Art Battle
This friday, July 25th, Beta hosts the second installment of the genius that is Sparticause - a series of live charitable art battles which pits artist against artist in gladitorial combat.

Sparticause is a live art battle in which six artists paint live based on a given theme. Each artist will be paired with a charity and a sponsor, who will provide their entry fee. Artist entry fees will be pooled to create the purse for the winner. There will be a first, second and third place winner, allowing for all charities involved to receive a donation. The winning artist from this Sparticause will join the other past finalists to battle in the Sparticause Maximus Gala event September 5th.

The first installment was a huge success, and expectations are riding high. Founder Michael Albert has been quoted saying:

“The last Sparticause enjoyed glorious success providing a fun, entertaining, creative and philanthropic experience for everyone. With over 450 people attending the battle we've since outgrown our space and are excited to hold our next competition at Beta Nightclub in Lodo. Six artist Gladiators will battle this time to make an awesome spectacle.”

The theme this time is "Denver", so let's hope we won't be seeing too many rendentions of the mountains and the cash register building. Ha! Looks like a fatastic time, and I can't wait for friday.

Event Name: Sparticause
Where: Beta Nightclub, 1909 Blake St., Denver
Date, Time: Friday, July 25th; 7:30pm - 2:00am
Price : $10 donation at the door
