Some people love to read. Some people love to go to the movies. On November 6th, Disney's A Christmas Carol starring the vocal talents of Jim Carrey comes to the big screen. Audiences will be able to enjoy this adaptation of Charles Dickens timeless holiday classic in 3D where available.
Precious, starring Mo'nique, Mariah Carey and Lenny Kravitz also opens in theaters on November 6th. This movie, based on best selling novel Push by Sapphire, tells the story of an overweight, illiterate African American woman who is offered the opportunity to find a new path for her life.
On November 20th, a little movie some people might have heard about, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, hits theaters at 12:01am. Pre-sale tickets are selling fast at box offices and websites such as www.fandango.com and www.moviefone.com.
Disney's The Princess and the Frog opens in limited release on November 25th. This updated version of The Frog Prince puts a cultural and unique spin on the classic fairy tale. Disney's formula for princess movies rarely fails to please audiences. Just in time for the kick off to the holiday season, this movie looks to follow suit with Disney tradition. Nationwide release of this movie is set for December 11th.
The Lovely Bones, based on Alice Sebold's best selling novel, packs a powerful cast with a powerful story. Starring Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci and Michael Imperioli, The Lovely Bones tells the story of a murdered teenage girl and her struggle as she watches her family and murderer from heaven. This film is set for limited release on December 11th and nationwide release on January 15th.
Sherlock Holmes, starring Robert Downey Jr., hits theaters on December 25th. Based on Arthur Conan Doyle's famous character, this movie offers audiences action, mystery, suspense and a bit of eye candy as well.
Date night. Girls night out. Just because. Whatever your reason may be for heading to the movies, audiences who enjoy watching a good book come to life on the big screen will have plenty to choose from over the next few months.
