This week’s quote comes from of The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis, the final book of “The Chronicles of Narnia” series. These are the final sentences of the book; the world of Narnia has come to an end, and everyone has come into Aslan’s country, and Lewis narrates:
“But for them it was only the beginning of the real story. All their life in this world and all their adventures in Narnia had only been the cover and the title page: now at last they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story, which no one on earth has read: which goes on for ever: in which every chapter is better than the one before.”
While we live on earth it is easy for us to focus on the here and now only. However, as Christians we must remember that there is a world to come that goes on forever. Our time here on earth is very short compared to the time we will spend in heaven, and it will be much better than our life on earth.
Please write your favorite Christian book quotes in the Comments section, they may be chosen for a future quote of the week.
