The Missing Person
A sleek, cool looking detective story with the cop getting the girls and the money, all while solving the crime in a somewhat questionable way.

Rent It!!

New Moon
Love it or hate it, the Twilight saga is on pop culture’s center stage, and will be for a while; regardless, be prepared for a solid presentation that promises multiple swoon-inducing looks and comments, heartbreak, conflict, action, and all else that comes with a vampire love story.

See It!!

The Blind Side
The inspiring true story of Michael Oher, a current NFL player whose dually heart-breaking and -warming life story will be a winner in theaters; don’t miss Sandra Bullock in what may end up being her most genuine and satisfying role to date.

See It!!

Red Cliff
John Woo has always been known for incredible, action-packing visual gems, and this tale of an ancient Asian civilization’s struggle for independence from a vicious warlord looks to be another one that will be awe-inspiring enough to pay to see on the big screen.

See It!!

Planet 51
The latest attempt by a movie studio (Tristar, in fact, steps into the ring with this one) that isn’t named Pixar to match Pixar’s absolute and deserved dominance of the computer-animated film genre; like all the rest, this one will be ‘different,’ kind of funny, and completely forgettable all at the same time.

Rent It!! for the kids after they’ve watched Up for the 21st time next month.

Mammoth
An independent film in the vein of Babel that examines the consequences of the various choices made by a father as he travels the world while his family waits expectantly at home—potentially an introspective and very powerful piece.

See It!!

Love The Beast
An auto-biographical documentary by actor Eric Bana about ‘The Beast,’ his car and constant companion for over 25 years. Entertaining to be sure, but unless auto restoration and collecting is your profession and/or passion, Rent It!! when this movie hits store shelves.

Fix
An amateur documentary-style film that looks to be somewhat serious, somewhat comical as it presents the actions of an ex-convict as he makes a pilgrimage from the dark circumstances of his everyday existence to a hope-filled stint in rehab.

Rent It!!

Broken Embraces
A Spanish piece showcasing the exploits of a beautiful and scandalous pre-madonna (Penelope Cruz) as she works her way to the top of the pile of fame and fortune—from the trailer, appears to be artfully shot and acted.

Rent It!!

Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans
Nicholas Cage and Eva Mendes star in this crime drama about a good cop whose unfortunate (and perhaps self-perpetuated) circumstances lead him down the road of drug addiction, extortion, and worse on the way to moonlighting as a hustling crime lord.

See It!!
