When Windows Vista came out most business refused to switch to it and the ones that did dreaded it Most software and drivers were incompatible, the code was buggy and since it changed names so many times, the public was not very well informed about the new operating system and consumers blindly switched to it because of their trust in the stable Windows XP.
Windows Vista has gone a long way and is now compatible with most software and hardware, the code is now stable and it is now overall a great operating system, for those who went back to XP after trying Vista when it first came out I would recommend you to try the improved Vista.
Windows 7 is being released in just two days, on October 22nd and Microsoft is promising improvement. Windows 7 will have faster install times, faster start-up times, faster network transfers and overall just faster. Another thing Microsoft is promising is more security, hopefully Windows users will not have to rely on third-party browsers like Firefox just to be safe online.
Since Windows XP will be 10 years old soon, businesses will be watching out for feedback on the Windows 7 operating system to possibly upgrade. Yes XP is very stable but it is slowly getting to be out of date and is missing features and security that the newer operating systems provide.
Microsoft has lost users confidence with Vista and it has a chance to gain it back with their new OS. They cannot afford another mistake like the one in 2007 and after trying out the operating system I agree that they are definitely working hard to get your confidence back.
