Samantha Michelle Nance was found stabbed to death by her roommate on September 11, Authorities believe that she was killed between 9:30 am and noon on September 10th.

The motive appears to be jealousy by the roommate of Nance's boyfriend. Daniel Willyhams's infatuation with Nances's boyfriend resented the amount of time Nathan Shuck spent with Nance.

On September 10, the day of Samantha Nance's' death, that resentment grew into rage.

Detectives were able to trace Willyhams movements and place him at Nance's apartment using cellphone records. DNA evidence collected from Willyhams apartment also contained DNA blood evidence belonging to Samantha Nance.
