Words – the newest bookstore in Maplewood

I just visited the cutest bookstore in Maplewood Village called “Words”. “Words” opened up on January 20th (yes, Inauguration Day), and will be having their grand opening later this month on Feb. 21st.
There’s nothing like the local neighborhood bookstore, which seems to be a dying commodity, as opposed to the larger bookstore chains – which I also love. But the small local stores have something unique. Upon arriving at the front of this bookstore, the latest offerings are sitting in the window, drawing people to come in and investigate – and investigate I did. Once inside, there are tables with books arranged, and rows of books on the shelves by category, from fiction to mystery, and everything in between. And of course there is the children’s area. An extra bonus for area residents is that there’s even a section of books about Maplewood. Comfy chairs in the center of the store complete the atmosphere that make “Words” the cozy, trendy, complete resource for book lovers in and around Maplewood.
Although the grand opening is towards the end of the month, “Words” is open for business. A calendar of special events, such as readings, book clubs and such is not yet complete, but will be revealed very soon.
So if you’re in the area, give your newest neighborhood bookstore – “Words” – a look and see.
