Check out these new DVD releases for the week of November 9th. These movies may just be worth your time and money.

Up (PG)

Disney Pixar has created one of the most loved duos of the year with the movie Up. Carl Fredricksen decides that after a life of being a balloon salesman, he needs some excitement and adventure. Fredricksen ties 1,000 balloons to his house and plans on floating all the way to South America. What Fredricksen isn't aware of when he takes off is the little boy Russell who happened to be on the porch. A great movie for parents and kids alike, Up will definitely find a place in your heart. Go out and pick up your copy today.

Director: Pete Docter

Runtime: 96 minutes

Up stars Ed Asner, Christopher Plummer, John Ratzenberger, and Jordan Nagai.

The Ugly Truth (R)

With the classic storyline of men versus women, The Ugly Truth takes it to another level by putting romantic methods of men and women versus each other on the big screen to discuss which group is better. When a chauvinistic man tries to explain how love really works, it is up to a woman, who is naive when it comes to love herself, to show him how she thinks it should work. The only way you would enjoy this movie is if you love predictable romantic comedies of find Gerald Butler so attractive that you need to see everything that he stars in. Try another movie that isn't so expected and obvious.

Director: Robert Luketic

Runtime: 96 minutes

The Ugly Truth stars Gerard Butler, Katherine Heigl, Bree Turner, and Eric Winter.

The Open Road (PG-13)

When a son realizes that his mother is going to die soon, the only thing he wants to do is try and reconnect with his long-lost father and bring him home. During the trip from Ohio back to Texas, both father and son realize that they have a lot of work to do before their relationship will be anything like it used to be. Although the movie does hit some rough patches (Slow storyline and mediocre acting), The Open Road is a funny and heartwarming story that deserves a chance in your home.

Director: Michael Meredith

Runtime: 91 minutes

The Open Road stars Jeff Bridges, Justin Timberlake, Mary Steenburgen, and Lyle Lovett.
