There is nothing like taking a knitting class to learn a new technique, or a refresher class to hone your skills. Let's not forget the excitement of being around like minded adults. The Big Apple Knitting Guild is having their retreat in our area. A couple of hours drive at most. Well worth the trip.

The retreat is being held at the Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury, Ct. It starts on Friday evening March 19 and runs through the weekend, ending Sunday March 21, 2010. That's just four months away. The classes will fill quickly and the time will pass just as fast. This might be the perfect holiday gift to give a friend or drop a hint, as a gift you would like yourself.

There is a class on "Knitting in the shadows", remember the BOO shadow knitting article for Halloween. There will be classes on Intarsia, Ganseys and one on "Things your mother never taught you". The entire schedule and room accommodations are on the slideshow, so have a look.

If you know of a fiber event, or have interesting news relating to one that you would like to share (to get the word out), please email me as I would like to post a monthly calendar.
