I spend a lot of time critiquing Fox News, now it's MSNBC's turn. On Friday's "Morning Meeting," host Dylan Ratigan showed a photo of Sarah Palin holding a rifle and wearing an American flag bikini. The photo is a fake and yet Ratigan failed to mention that. Shocked I tell you - shocked.
Of course I don't watch "Morning Meeting," it sounds like an awful show, but fortunately I'm a subscriber to the conservative media watchdog Media Research Center's email list and they happily called out MSNBC for this "mistake."
MSNBC is the liberal version of Fox News, so I doubt this was an honest error. Not any more of an error than Sean Hannity showing video footage of the Beck's 9/12 rally and pretending it was Michele Bachmann's much smaller anti-health care reform gathering in DC.
Showing a fake photo of Sarah Palin in a bikini highlights the problem with cable news - it's rarely actually news, but rather one station trying to prove they're the most liberal or the most conservative of them all.
Quite frankly, it's boring.
The Media Research Center report on MSNBC sorry excuse for news, er commentary, whatever.
Here's the video of the MSNBC "report"
Snopes on the fake photo
