In 2003, Angelina Jolie created the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation (MJP) to help conserve Cambodia’s
endangered Cardamom Mountain’s northern territory. The Foundation is involved in reforestation, community development, rural planning, Micro-Enterprise Development, and conservation-wildlife monitoring in the Samlaut, (the last remaining forest park with dense forest in Cambodia’s northwest).
MJP provides opportunities for professional volunteers and interns who will work directly in the field in northwestern Cambodia to assist teams of community development wildlife law enforcement experts, to assist in protecting the forests in Samlaut, working on poverty alleviation projects and helping local schoolchildren. All positions are unpaid. MJP provides housing and logistic support. They prefer professional volunteers and interns to join for a minimum of 3 months.
