Caye Caulker Island in Belize City is home to the world’s largest barrier reef, it is known for one of the most famous diving locations, Great Blue Hole, first explored by Jacques Cousteau. The Island is tiny, so it’s very easy to explore.
After witnessing the cruel conditions of the cats on Belize, Madi Collins decided to do something about it, so about three years ago Madi set up the P.A.W. Animal Sanctuary, located on Caye Caulker Island in Belize City.

PAW primarily cares for cats but their doors are open to all animals in need, and they desperately need volunteers. Without volunteer help, P.A.W. and the Humane Society cannot continue providing help for the suffering and homeless animals on the island.
To entice volunteers to the island PAW offers an incredible deal. Just pay a small fee of $75/week for your accommodation and in exchange volunteers must guarantee volunteering one hour per day helping with the cats and kittens.
Volunteers will have beachfront accommodation on Caye Caulker island. There are lots of wonderful outdoor activities to enjoy: excellent diving, snorkeling, alligator and manatee watching, plenty of sunshine, white sand and tranquility. The sanctuary boasts one of the most spectacular sunset views from its dock where you can observe the wildlife from daytime hours well into the evening.
The acronym for P.A.W. is Protecting Animal Welfare.
