Bill Baird's shambadelic collective Sunset makes the kind of highly listenable, yet mystical psych-pop major labels used to sign all the time before the Manson Murders and I mean that as a compliment. This show has the added bonus of being in a house, The New Crompton, that is located somewhere in the U district. You have to email them at their myspace page for the address. House shows can be really fun. One of the best shows I ever saw was at a house in Austin. Charlambides played a totally solid drone/folk set and then Jack Rose annihilated the audience with his finger-picking. .
