The growing list of products being pulled from store shelves due to possible salmonella contamination now includes dog treats.
PetSmart has voluntarily recalled seven of its Grreat Choice® Dog Biscuits that contain peanut butter paste produced by Peanut Corporation of America (PCA). The Georgia company is currently under investigation by the FDA after peanut butter was implicated in a nationwide salmonella outbreak.
The recalled products include only biscuits containing peanut butter that were sold between Aug. 21, 2008 and Jan. 19, 2009. Customers who purchased the treats are encouraged not to feed the treats to their pets. Unused product can be returned to the store for exchange or refund.
