The spirit of the Old West lives on in Mesa Arizona. November 7-8, 2009 is the time to meander through the streets of Mesa and enjoy the eclectic assortment of displays by vendors and artists. The events began Friday November 6th with a Vintage Western Masquerade as part of Blissfest sponsored by Domestic Bliss. The event included Grand Fandango at Inside The Bungalow and Domestic Bliss with special guests, dancing, a fashion show and a photo booth by Allison Tyler Jones (www.ATJPHOTO.Com).

Saturdays activities included a Blissfest Market with over 50 boutiques, vendors and artists. Mesa Old West Days Festival is blending activites with Blissfest. It is common to see a stage coach filled with eager riders travelling the streets between First Ave., First St. and Macdonald St. The Old West Days Festival continues Sunday November 8, 2009 from 10AM - 4PM. Be prepared to see:
Gunfight Reenactments - Buffalo Soldiers - Dutch Oven Cook-Off - Costume Contest - Kiddie Rides - Quick Draw Competition - Shooting Gallery - BBQ Contest - And more excitement

Be sure to stop and enjoy the beautiful music of Teneia Sanders www.TeneiaSanders.com. Another must see is the unique trailer decorated with bejewelled horns and a giant shoe. The inside of the trailer is adorned with a beautiful selection of jewelry, an extension of the Vintage Eclectic Salvage Jewelry displayed in front of the trailer. Stop and chat with Heidi Martineic of Paris Montana and ask about the concept of salvage jewelry. www.parismtjewelry.com. Another artist presenting her talents on recycled metals is Meg Harper. Her wide variety of subject matter is uniquely presented on metal canvas. Copies of her original work is also presented for purchase on paper backing. meg@megharper.com.

So get dressed in your best western gear and wake up your Old West spirit. Travel the streets of downtown Mesa, and remember how it must have been during the time of the Buffalo Soldiers and gunfights.
