To celebrate this year's summer solstice on June 20, Chef Cathal Armstrong of Alexandria’s highly acclaimed Restaurant Eve will prepare a farm dinner at the historic Mount Vernon Farm featuring the natural bounty of Rappahannock County’s farms and orchards.

Chef Armstrong, a leader in the buy fresh/buy local and farm-to-fork movements, will create a menu using ingredients freshly gathered from Rappahannock farmers. Specially selected Rappahannock artisan wines will complement each course.

Guests will spend the evening with Chef Armstrong and mingle with the farmers and winemakers who dedicate themselves to providing produce, meats and other delicacies in a pristine and natural environment.

Cocktails will be served at 5:30 p.m. on the lawn of the Miller family farmhouse followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. atop a nearby knoll. Mount Vernon Farm is located at 206 Mount Vernon Lane, off Route 211 outside Sperryville and 75 miles west of Washington D.C.

Tickets are $180 per guest and are available at www.GourmetRappahannock.com. For questions, email info@GourmetRappahannock.com or call 540-987-8682, mailbox 2.

The dinner is sponsored by Gourmet Rappahannock Food & Wine Consortium in partnership with the Rappahannock County Office of Tourism, the Piedmont Environmental Council and Flavor Magazine. Net proceeds from this event will benefit the Rappahannock County Farmland Preservation Program.
