National Trail Day activites plentiful in Colorado this coming weekend

The American Hiking Society (AHS) is celebrating National Hiking Day this coming Saturday, June 6, and numerous activities along the Front Range will be held for the day. Interested parties can participate in festivals, runs, walks, as well as a number of educational programs. For those interested in contributing to the trails of Colorado, there are a number of service projects centered around trail maintenance.

The purpose of National Trail Day according to the AHS is to inspire "the public and trail enthusiasts nationwide to seek out their favorite trails to discover, learn about, and celebrate trails while participating in educational exhibits, trails, dedications, instructional workshops and trail work projects."

Here are some of the activities to look for in the Denver area this weekend:
