If you missed the movie Revenge of the Nerds in 1982, then you may still be in denial about the proliferation of Nerd Culture into the mainstream. It has been officially cool to be a nerd for at least 27 years now.
Enter the world of Nerdcore Hip Hop. Nerds are so cool they have launched a new musical genre and MC Frontalot is their godfather. Rapping clever lyrics about geekdom and making sexual references to his "light saber", MC Frontalot has developed a national following and has inspired a generation of up and coming nerd rappers.
Starting Friday, November 13th, the Little Are Theatre in Yellow Springs is showing Nerdcore Rising, a hilarious documentary that follows MC Frontalot and his band around the country. Check the theater website for showtimes.
Show the nerd in your life some love and take him, or her, out for a showing. Lewis and Gilbert would have wanted you to.
