Do you know the muffin man?
Do you know the muffin man?
Tina Lane

Tucked away behind a quiet street in downtown Bellbrook is The Blueberry Cafe.  It is one of those small local establishments, quaintly decorated with country flair, that is always hopping at breakfast time and full of regulars.  It is the kind of place that reminds you of grandma's kitchen table on Sunday morning, except much busier.

Several times a day the Muffin Man, as he so affectionately calls himself, appears in the dining room with trays full of aromatic and oversized muffins he has recently whipped up for his guests.  He sings a humorous chant, enticing all with his specials for the day, such as his giant Smores Muffin dripping with chocolate and topped with a toasted marshmallow.  Modestly priced, guests can enjoy a "Fresh Baked Mammoth Muffin" for $1.99.

While the breakfast platters are very affordable, averaging around $6, much of the traditional breakfast fare is average.  Avoid the omelets all together.  The real attraction at The Blueberry Cafe are the sweets.  The "Big As Your Plate" pancakes, sumptuous French Toast items, and the muffins are the stars of the show here, with an emphasis on the muffins.

You can order your delights to go at The Blueberry, as attested to by the happy customers seen toting bags of food away from the hostess stand.  What better way to surprise your honey with a romantic morning than to bring home some unbelievable breakfast goodies from The Blueberry?    If you are tempted to meet the Muffin Man for breakfast in person, be prepared for a crowd.

On your next weekend together, sleep in late, have a snuggle, share a Mammoth Muffin, and drift off to a very contented place.  Your kitchen table with thank you and so will your honey.
