"Slumdog Millionaire" co-stars Freida Pinto (24) and Dev Patel (18) may not have been celebs before, but they're definitely finding out now what it feels like to see your private life splashed all over the tabloids.
Freida's ex-boyfriend/fiancé Rohan Antao apparently told News of the World — the same British rag that published a cover photo of Olympic star Michael Phelps taking a bong hit — that Freida dumped him by phone because she's crazy about Dev:
Now everywhere I go I see them on billboards. I am devastated.”
He claims she kept their engagement a secret to promote the love story in the movie. But when she called him from Los Angeles last month to break up, he blamed it on Dev:
She is infatuated with Dev. I don’t know if they were having a sexual relationship but if I came face to face with him I would have things to say.”
There has been a ton of speculation about Freida and Dev becoming a real-life couple, and though they haven't confirmed it, most of the world sees them as an adorable Cinderella couple. They found each other in a rags-to-riches film that became the #1 international hit and the darling of the Oscars. Everybody loves "Slumdog Millionaire."
Except Rohan Antao.
I hate the film. It wrecked my relationship. As soon as it became a success and she started spending all her time with Dev, she ended it.
Two words. That's showbiz.
