John Travolta's friend Michael McDermott told the Ocala Star-Banner on Friday that funeral arrangements are being made in Ocala, Florida for 16-year-old Jett Travolta, who died Friday after suffering a seizure in the Bahamas.
Michael had gone to the Bahamas to spend time with the family and was devastated by the news of Jett's death.
The Star-Banner reports:
His voice cracking with emotion, McDermott called it a tough scene and noted "Kelly's very quiet."
"Just say a prayer for them," he added. "That's all you can do at this point."
Sources say the funeral will be held Tuesday in Ocala, where the Travoltas have a home in the fly-in community of Jumbolair Aviation Estates. John parks two large planes, including a a Boeing 707, at his home there.
John named his son Jett in honor of his lifelong love of aviation. He once told Architectural Digest that while other kids had sleeopvers in their backyards, Jett could step outside and have his in a Boeing 707. The plane is named Jett Clipper Ella after him and his sister.
The family "driveway" is actually a taxiway to the main airstrip of of Greystone Airport, which is the largest licensed, paved and lighted private airport in America, according to the Jumbolair web site.
