Robert Pattinson on his body odor: 'It gets to the point where even I can't stand the air around me'

Settling the body odor debate once and for all, Robert Pattinson says the rumors about his bad hygiene and pungent body odor are true. He says that sometimes even he can't stand his own smell.
In London to promote "New Moon" on Tuesday, Rob told the British magazine New that that he rarely changes his clothes:
Like these jeans are a few days old, but the top is probably fresh because it gets to the point where even I can’t stand the air around me. I don’t know, my personal hygiene – it’s so disgusting! Really it’s just that I have very few clothes that I like and I’m traveling all the time, so I can’t really get any more.
But there is an upside to lazy personal hygiene, he says. His trademark mussy hair is simply a result of not bothering to brush it:
Yeah, there’s a fascination with my hair, too. It’s funny, because that’s all down to how I used to hate my dad wanting to brush my hair when I was a kid. I hated it! So it’s funny this whole thing with my hair is just from not brushing it!
Given all that, he thinks it's funny that he's the fantasy of so many female fans:
It’s just funny, because if the fans were to talk to me for five minutes – if one of them came up and sat with me for five minutes – the illusion would be gone!
Apparently he doesn't get that it's the illusion that makes it so good. That's what separates stars from other mortals.
And besides, who cares what he smells like? The man is drop dead sexy.
