Sam Jones, who once played Clark Kent's best friend Pete Ross on "Smallville," made some news of his own Wednesday morning when the DEA arrested him in a major drug deal gone wrong.
TMZ reports that Jones allegedly was part of a conspiracy to sell more than 10,000 oxycodone pills. Oxycodone is the active ingredient in OxyContin -- or "hillbilly heroin" as it was known back when housekeeper Wilma Kline said her boss Rush Limbaugh used to cop it in a Denny's parking lot.
But we digress. Jones, who supposedly was the Hollywood connection in the deal, was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and is expected in federal court in Los Angeles later today.
He played Pete Ross for the first three seasons, then left to film "Glory Road."
