'Housewives' not so desperate (or funny) without Edie

Edie, the conniving man-eater played by Nicollette Sheridan, finally got chased off of Wisteria Lane by the rest of the "Desperate Housewives." There goes the neighborhood.

Edie was the only deliciously deranged character left on the show. The rest of them are simply too prissy, too self-righteous, too coy, too reformed or too psychopathic to hold our interest for very much longer. We used to love "Housewives" because it was so dark and funny. Now it's just dim. And not so funny.
