You know it's a slow day when the top story on Access Hollywood is Clay Aiken not saying whether he is gay or straight. Apparently it's big news (yet again) that the former "Idol" has "no interest in taking his love life public." Enough already.
Aiken is no fool. As liberal as the entertainment industry may claim to be, being gay still carries a stigma that can seriously damage a career — especially for someone whose fan base centers around women who watch QVC (Aiken is appearing live on Monday to hawk his new CD).
"People who are living in Omaha or in Charlotte or wherever ... don’t want stuff like that pushed in their face," Aiken told Access.
You go, Clay. Our mother told us that people who worry about who other people sleep with have way too much time on their hands. We're with ya, baby. (But do yourself a favor: Lose the hairdo.)
