Jessica Simpson: Kidney infection or detox?

We hated reading the Star item claiming that Jessica Simpson's recent hospital stay wasn't for a mysterious kidney infection but was actually a detox situation after "months of hard drinking." And as if that wasn't enough to sell the paper, the Star said Simpson also asked for a pregnancy test.
Now, we take all tabloid headlines with a major grain of salt, but we do have to wonder just a tiny bit, given the whole Hollywood SUI (Stars Uner the Influence) situation.
The Star claims that an inside source* told them Simpson's health problems were "brought on by drinking an obscene amount of alcohol" trying to keep up with boyfriend Tony Romo, who is basically twice her size.
We hope it's not true.
* FYI: An "inside source" can be paparazzi or other reporters stating an opinion.
