Salma Hayak honored for 'Ugly' work at Crystal Lucy Awards
Salma Hayek was hailed for her efforts as executive producer of "Ugly Betty" at the Crystal Lucy Awards in Beverly Hills last night. The awards, which were established to honor women in film as a tribute to Lucille Ball.
Hayek told The Hollywood Reporter: "I wanted ['Ugly Betty'] to be different than anything I was seeing on television. I also wanted Latin people to feel excited and proud that there was something on television that sort of belonged to them, but I wanted the American audience not to feel alienated from it."
Aisha Taylor hosted the ceremony last night — and she was in good company: Cameron Diaz, Annette Bening, Eva Mendes, Jada Pinkett Smith, Meg Ryan, Nicole Richie, Debra Messing, and Rumer Willis also attended the gala. Here are some photos from the event:
