New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg held a joint press conference with the Police today to announce the band's last-ever concert, which will be in the Big Apple in August. So it's a retirement concert for a reunion band that came out of retirement to do a concert tour.
Our head is spinning like Linda Blair in "The Exorcist."
We thought the band was over a long time ago, so we don't understand all the hoopla for a "this time we really mean it" retirement concert.
Well, we do understand it in the sense that Sting and the Police will contribute $1 million to the mayor's MillionTreesNYC initiative to plant trees all over the city. That's a big photo op for Bloomberg.
And we do love Sting, over or not.
It's just that the whole reunion thing is getting a little, uh, old. In a word.
