Allman Brothers cancel Beacon concerts
POSTED April 21, 5:02 PM

It's been one big sick call for musicians the past week or so. Latest to join the disabled list is Gregg Allman, whose continuing recovery from treatment for Hepatitis-C forced the Allman Brothers band to cancel this year's annual performances at New York's Beacon Theatre.

The band announced on the official web site that the Beacon shows will be rescheduled for early 2009, but the group will resume its regular touring schedule in August 2008 with co-headliner Bob Weir & RatDog.

“New York’s a second home to us,” says Gregg. “We love playing there and are as disappointed as anybody not to be able to get there this time.”
