Canning & Craft Class Series at Good For The Planet
Here are upcoming dates for this fun class on how to learn to can your food safely.

Washington Can Can! Learn the methods and secrets of home canning and get the approved USDA "Encyclopedia" of Home Canning, all in one stop. Vickie Phelps will be on hand at 11 am on these dates to help beginners get started on the right foot as well as offering fresh ideas for experienced canners. Each class day will start at 11 am with Introduction to Home Canning of Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables.
The weekly classes will be tailored to the attendee’s skill levels and whatever fruits and vegetables are in season and will feature a "Just Can It!" worksheet so the attendees can go home and put into practice the skills taught in the class.
At 1-3pm each class day, Vickie will be demonstrating other Heritage Skills that will help students become more self-sufficient and save money too! These classes will introduce folks to tricks and tips for home cooking, handmade gifts and home crafts.

Real Diaper Association
Maya, of Real Diaper Association, hosts a Diaper Circle on the second Sunday of each month from 11am – 1pm with the information and tools needed to spread the use of cloth diapers. Membership is not required to attend sewing classes however members of the Real Diaper Association have access to the Resource Center through their website, through local Leaders, through their national convention, and through the information they distribute in pamphlets, email lists and other publications.
Through the Resource Center, RDA plans national campaigns, distributes educational information and sponsors research.
Through local Real Diaper Circles, the Association organizes members who advocate cloth diapers locally, meeting with new parents face-to-face to make their diapering choice easier.
The Real Diaper Circles that take place at Goods for the Planet teach parents how to sew their own very cute and colorful diapers and diaper covers from up-cycled fabrics, as well as provide useful information for trading and selling for the next size up. Regenerated Clothing Workshop
December 5th ~ 1pm - 5pm
Jenny Allen, owner & desiner of Madrone Berries, a recycled clothing company in Port Townsend, will be offering this great workshop, including all patterns, materials and individualized instruction to make two hats, two scarfs and two pairs of mitts from clean sweaters and t-shirts. Also includes individual instruction if you want to work on your own project. Bring your own sewing machine, thread and scissors, and other recycled material if you want to work on your own project. This is a great opportunity to hear her story and share her knowledge. Don't miss it!
