Today is a big day for Kathy and Lee. Our book, Drinking and Driving in Colorado: A Guide to Colorado’s Brewpubs, went to the printer today. We should see a proof by the end of the week and have copies available for sale in about 2 weeks.

One of the 77 Colorado brewpubs we visited is the Old Mill Brewery in our part of town. Here is a preview from our book.

Old Mill Brewery
Located in downtown Littleton, this historic mill has been converted to a restaurant and brewery. The atmosphere is inviting and casual, created by the rust colored walls and medium stained oak floors and furniture. The informal setting is enhanced with big screen TVs scattered throughout the bar/dining area, and pin ball machines clustered on either side of the U shaped bar. The historic aspect of this building is evident in the antique posters on the walls, as well as the collection of photographs portraying a picture history of downtown Littleton. Background sounds are provided by the lively conversation of the patrons. A patio to the west offers an appealing space to enjoy the mountain Views.

The beers on tap when we visited were:
Old Mill Pilsner - A rich golden lager that offers fragrant, flowery bouquet.
Rapp Street Lager - A light, soft malt flavor that combines with the interesting hop finish to produce a very good and drinkable brew.
Riverside Red - A red ale exhibiting a copper hue. It is a well balanced, clean tasting ale with a mild hop finish and malty notes.
Colussus IPA - An IPA that is a fruity, hoppy, super-premi- um pale ale.
Downtown Littleton Brown  - A brown ale, well balanced with aromatic hop notes combined with malts for a sweet taste with a hint of nutty flavors.
Devout Stout - A dark stout, this roasty top fermented brew is robust, sweet, malty and a good mid-afternoon restorative.

In our book we always pick our favorites:
Lee picked the Colossus IPA with the tremendous kick of citrus and Kathy chose the slightly hoppy Rapp Street Lager.

Check out their web site for online coupons and daily specials (except for Thursday!). They also offer free Wi-Fi Internet access so you can drink craft beer and surf at the same time.
