Is Penelope Cruz joining the cast of the Sex and the City 2 (SATC2) film? According to reports by several entertainment sites like OK!, the beautiful actress is slated to play herself at a posh red carpet event. Rumor is Cruz just finished filming the cameo where she flirts with the hunky Mr. Big.

Penelope Cruz, shown above in New York City on Sunday, October 11th, attended The New York Film Festival closing night screening of "Broken Embraces".  Penelope joined Madonna at a swanky dinner party honoring director Pedro Allmodovar on the trendy Upper East Side while she was in town.

Several photogs snapped pics of her leaving her hotel but a photo of her on the set of SATC2 has yet to surface.

Penelope Cruz has starred in such films as Volver (2007), The Good Night (2007) and this year's Elegy, just to name a few of her amazing performances.
