Judges Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and Adam Shankman were not unanimous this week in their final elimination of So You Think You Can Dance season 6. At least not when it came to the guys.
The bottom three couples of week five were Karen Hauer and Victor Smalley, Mollee Gray and Nathan Trasoras, and Ellenore Scott and Ryan Di Lello. Each of the pairs danced individually for their lives in the competition, and when it came to the girls, the cut was clear.
The judges said they felt like Karen had given up, despite the difficulty faced by ballroom dancers when it comes to performing a solo. She was unanimously voted to leave the show. When it came to the guys, however, the choice was not as obvious. Nigel said he would have sent Nathan packing if it wasn't for Mary and Adam, who selected Victor to go home instead.
Meanwhile, while the dancers prepped and later while the judges deliberated, SYTYCD welcomed special guest dancer Paloma Herrera of American Ballet Theater and Shakira, who sang her single "Give It Up To Me." (See video below.)
Next week, the viewers take total control, and the top 10 girl and guy who receive the least number of votes will be asked to leave the show.
