Sitting down at the Southern Sun can often lead to a religious experience. This particular time I had the fortune to stumble onto Avery's new duganA double IPA.Usually Avery's beers are off the charts on some quirky, innovative combination of flavors that defy categorization. With this recent brew they recreate an old-new beer really really good tasting.

Nothing is exceptional about the hop profile, grain bill, or general makeup of the beer. Combining hops from the Northwest and a spicier English-American cross (Chinook) the hops are noticeably zesty and intense. Coming in at 8.5% ABV it is enough to keep your wits about you, and has a delicious and warmly balanced malt bill to back it up.

Reading from Avery's description of the beer they claim, "As fervent devotees of hops, we found ourselves on a quest to create a transcendental IPA capable of quenching our voracious lupulin desires." In short, it is liquid gold and slightly mystical. Unfortunately, this delicious concoction is on limited release, so find it and drink it while you can.
