A recent Rasmussen Poll showed that 62% of registered voters believed that their senators and congresspeople pay more attention to the media than they did the voters themselves. Not so surprising since senators and congresspeople spend so much of their time primping and rehearsing before they get in front of the camera to tell the media just how wonderful they are, and talk about their great achievements . This has become all too clear. The voters are not near as important as the camera, or the person conducting the interview. Voters don't hold the same kind of power that the media does.

So take a close look at how the Pelosi's and the Reid's and the Frank's play the media. They know...and to borrow a term from author, journalist and Fox News contributor Bernie Goldberg, that the "lame-stream" media will fawn and slobber all over them and hang on their every word. Voters don't do that....especially in today's climate. The voters right now are much more inclined to ask the tough questions, as was witnessed over the summer at the town hall meetings. Since the senators and congresspeople know that they have the "lame-stream" media pretty much in the palm of their needy little hands, and a lot of this nowadays can be attributed to the president, they can say most anything knowing that the media will just gobble it up. Remember....they're not speaking to the voter, they're speaking to the media. The media won't ask the tough questions, the media won't make any attempts to pin them down on the important issues. Oh but look out....the voter might therefore making them unimportant.

Narcissism runs rampant with these folks and yet the media lets them get away with it. In fact....the media helps promote it, instigate it, propagate it. And again they know this so they're going to pay much more attention to them than they are the voter. It's not only saddening to folks around here, it's sickening. And it's quite clear when listening to the voters in this area, and no doubt around the nation as well. ABC's Charles Gibson has lost all credibility according to many around here, and the same really holds true for CBS's Katie Couric and NBC's Brian Williams....don't even mention any of the gang over at MSNBC.  It's quite obvious that when the big lawmakers speak, reporters and the aforementioned look at them so intently with their the nods of agreement, and the uh-uh's, and the hmmm yes's, that they cannot help but love them more than the voters. So much for journalistic integrity and non-biased reporting.

Well since the poll indicates that 62% of those interviewed say they believe their senators and congresspeople pay more attention to the media than they do the voters; could this mean that it will only get worse? Anymore when voters are watching Barack Obama on their television screens, seeing how pompous he comes across, and how he knows that the "lame-stream" media still has this love affair with him, voters are going to get sick of it. And they are and it's beginning to show....just ask your neighbor. No doubt there is a direct connect between how he is treated in the media, and how those in the senate and congress are treated in the media. A good example of this is in an opinion article, One Year Later: Journalists' love for Obama still going strong by Dan Gainor at Fox News shows how the media still slobbers over the president. As well as another article that clearly indicates just how little lawmakers think of voters, and how they mock voters and play to the media, rather than listening to what the nation is saying.

One of this nations greatest, former President Ronald Reagan, used to say to his beloved wife Nancy at the end of a long hard day, "well....all in all it's been a good day." Very soon American's are going to be saying, "well...all in all it's going to be a very bad day for the liberal Democrats", and they're going to mean it. Dancing for the media rather than listening closely to what the constituents have to say is going to backfire on them....and in a very big way indeed. The voters are going to be saying, well you should have been paying all that attention to us, and not the "lame-stream." It'll be very interesting to see how that 62% progresses in the near future.
