City of Lakewood to hold fifth annual Bearable Adventure Race on September 13th

Lakewood Bearable Adventure Race

Need something to do this weekend? Register for the City of Lakewood's fifth annual Bearable Adventure Race on Sunday, September 13th at Bear Creek Lake Park 15600 Morrison Rd.

Registration deadline is Friday, September 11, so don't delay!

In the Bearable Race, racers pair up in teams of 2 and are challenged to a medley of outdoor skills. Each team will compete in lake crossing, mountain biking, trail running and basic orienteering. In addition to outdoor prowess, teams will be judged on appearance. Prizes will be awarded to the team with the best costuming.

Teams can be composed of adults, youth, men, women, men and women, families and co-workers. Each team will decide if it falls into the corporate or recreation category.  The top three teams in each category will be awarded prizes.

REI along with the Lakewood Recreation Division will sponsor Bearable Kids, for children 5-10 years of age. This adventure is free and kids are required to bring their own bike helmets. Kids will bike, run, do a water course and mystery event. Bearable Kids begins at 9:30 AM.

The event is produced by the City of Lakewood Recreation Division, Bear Creek Lake Park and Runners Roost. Sponsors for the event include, New Balance, REI, Rocky Mountain Sports Magazine, Skipix.com, MedExpress, Whole Foods Belmar, Great West, Courtyard by Marriott and Engineers without Borders, USA.

Stick around after the race for Bearapalooza After Race Party. Engineers Without Borders will provide BBQ and beverages.
