          Kitchen Crock Compost

We got an email from some newlyweds asking if we could go over which kitchen products can and be recycled into compost. They were hoping to start a compost bin but wanted to make sure they were adding the correct items. I hope this list will help them in their efforts as well as any others who have some uncertainty as well.

Do Compost
Breads
Coffee grounds, filters
Eggshells
Food soiled paper products
Fruit – including rinds and peels
Grains and pasta
Paper napkins, towels
Spoiled food
Tea bags
Vegetable scraps

Don’t Compost
Butter
Cheese
Dairy products
Fish and poultry
Meat
Oily foods
Other animal products
