Imagine starting your Thanksgiving morning with a community celebration amid happy, smiling faces; the rush of endorphins and goodwill; contributing to the future of technology education for non-profits; and even burning off a few calories before Thanksgiving dinner. These are the joys you can expect when you participate in the Sixth Annual Berbee Derby.

Whether you are a casual walker who wants to get in a 5K (3.1-mile) stroll before turkey time, a serious runner rarin’ to do a 10K, or a wheelchair participant, the Berbee Derby has a place for you. You can even form a team of five members or more, making it perfect as a family event—with the bonus of having your team name printed on the back of your Berbee Derby t-shirt. (Be quick—team registration closes November 6.)

Besides offering a great way to give thanks for a healthy body and vibrant community, the Berbee Derby also gives the satisfaction of supporting the Technology Education Foundation (TEF), which provides basic to advanced technology education to all ages in underserved communities. All proceeds from the Berby Derby go directly to the foundation.

If you don’t want to walk or run, consider volunteering and automatically earn the chance to win an iPod touch, Wii game system, or Garmin GPS device.

It’s hard to imagine that anyone would want to be anywhere else at 9:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning 2009. Here’s the chance for you, your friends, and family to be part of your very own, unforgettable Thanksgiving Day parade.
